Well, I didn’t quite make it to 10 seasons…

After nearly a decade with Microsoft, I’ve officially been bought out of my contract—two months shy of my 10-year anniversary. But hey, that’s the business. Just like pro sports, sometimes it's in the best interest of the team and the player to shake hands and part ways. No hard feelings—just business.

I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished during my run there:

  • Launched Windows 10 and Windows 11 to the world

  • Led global marketing initiatives for Windows devices, partnering with silicon and OEM

  • Helped bring the Copilot+ PC vision to life and shape what’s next for the Windows brand in the world of AI

  • Built and coached high-impact, high-character teams who made the job a joy

To all my teammates who were also impacted by these buyouts—you’re some of the most talented, creative people in the business. I feel for you, and I’m cheering for you. If there’s anything I can do to help, please reach out.

As for me—I’m officially a free agent. Eager, grateful, and fired up for whatever’s next. If you’ve got a project you’re excited about, a big idea in the works, or just want to catch up and talk shop—I’m ready to hit the field.
